so whats not so "elite" about the new armor sets ?
i did a little search and could not find too much, but this has really ****** me off, so anet decides that their new destroyer weapons are the only ones that can be put into the hom, why can you not put the new armor into hom ? it seems illogical that these are the new sets, that the developers have "coded" in, yet they can not be added, i brought the silver eagle male warrior one which ***ahem*** looks alot like luxon 15k, but i am ok with that as i was going to make it my axe farming armor.
but it now seems like a waste of all that time grinding to get rank 5 dwarf all for the armor which i cant show off in hom, good job anet.

Norn,Asura and Monument (Vanguard) armour go into the monument because they are sets.
Their is no Dwarven set - only different pieces which can be used for mix and match - therefore it wont go into the monument. The eagle armor was a set that was never completed for other professions but added anyway for Warriors. My guess is they never coded it to go onto the monument.

I'm a little disappointed in that part of HoM anyway; most of my characters wear mixed armor sets and apparently that's a big no.

Chances are eventually the eagle set will be allowed onto the monument. The Dwarven pieces however we will have to see about.

What the hell is wrong with you? Why did you buy the armor if you think it was a total waste to do so? Maybe I'm retarded or something but if I don't like a certain armor set, I don't buy it. More so if I would have to look at it everytime I go into my HoM. :\

i had not looked it up i.e the design, it was the only "set" so i thought i might as well get a trio for the hall, it also seemed like something to show for the 5 or so hours of grinding for rank 5 dwarf.... sigh.

I destroyed my 15k armor sets as I replaced them (eventually with a full obsidian set) since at the time there was never a surefire way to keep your armor from breaking. Now that HoM is out, before I go over to GW2, I'll probably end up buying my favorite other two sets of armor again.
And why not?
I've wasted an amazing amount of gold on other things anyway.

I could be wrong, but I thought I read that there would be a slot for granite citadel armor, a slot for marhanns grotto armor, and a slot for FoW armor in the Hall of monuments, which I took to mean that Factions, Nightfall, and Eotn armors would not be able to be added. I thought that was pretty silly when I read it but I'm pretty sure that's what it said.

that's incorrect. i just added my ranger's ancient set to the HoM, so basically any prestige armor set will work (with the exception of the dwarven set, i suppose).
what's even stranger, is that you don't need to get the headgear for it to show up. the perfect replica statue of my ranger is wearing the ancient mask, even though i never bought it. saves a bit of money in the long run, i suppose.

That's just because a lot of professions don't have headpieces for all armor (eles, necros, monks, and mesmers). If you needed the whole set, then those classes wouldn't be able to add a lot of armors into the HoM. In fact, the only "ascended" ele armor headpiece is Vabbian.

It's monk headgear they fail at, at least if your monk actually has hair...

If i had known my dwarven armor wasnt gonna be displayable i wouldnt have botherd with it to tell you the truth. I still think leaving the dwarven armor out is stupid and pretty much uncalled for. Why you ask? cause if you go into propheses...the elite armore there...well..there are different styles allowign for mix and match there of the elite armors...and techincaly the dwarven is no differen from the other EoTN armor...so im still waiting for anet to tell me whats the difference cause I am yet to see it ... and that "its not a set" is BS ...its still no different than the others

But it is different from the others. Each part has a different name, and they don't really go together. Infact, a lot of the classes don't even have a full set of it. Look at the Ranger Dwarven armour, no headgear and no gauntlets. It doesn't go in, because it isn't a set, it was supposed to be used to mix and match to make different combinations.
However, I do agree that they should change this to make it count as a full set, especially the Warriors Silver Eagle.
